For eighty-four years, the Prince George's Chamber of Commerce has worked tirelessly as the "voice of business" in the County. Maintaining a healthy economic climate for business and improving the quality of life for the county residents remains a top priority during each General Assembly session for the Prince George's Chamber of Commerce.

Providing approximately 250,000 jobs in the County, members depend on the Chamber to protect their legislative and policy interests. Each year, the Chamber strives to be more proactive during the General Assembly session. The Chamber's goal is to ensure that its members are not only given the tools but the opportunity to take advantage of the region's economic prosperity.

The Chamber's Legislative Committee consistently works to assess the needs and concerns of over 900 members. Once the needs and concerns are addressed, these new initiatives become part of the framework for the Chamber's new legislative policy agenda to be lobbied during the General Assembly session.

The Chamber maintains a full-time presence in Annapolis during the General Assembly sessions to promote the views of its members and to focus on those bills that improve the business climate in both Prince George's County and Maryland.

Members are encouraged to call on the Chamber when in need of assistance on particular issues during the legislative session or if they wish to testify or lobby in support of legislation, or serve on the Legislative Committee.
